  1. 03Power electronicsConversion, distribution and protection between sources, storage and loads, within the voltage and thermal limits of the platform. Faults are contained, not passed on.
  2. 04Embedded and control systemsControl and monitoring hardware and software, specified against the behaviour the system has to hold when something fails, not only when everything works.
  3. 05Prototyping, testing and verificationRigs, instrumentation and test campaigns that establish on the ground what a system does before it is trusted in the air.

Current programme

A hydrogen-electric Zenith CH-750.

An experimental aircraft that carries the complete propulsion and energy system: hydrogen storage, fuel cell, battery buffer, electric drive, cooling, power distribution, control and monitoring. It brings all five capability areas together on one platform.

It is the first practical development and test platform for a broader approach. What proves itself here is what gets scaled.

The aviation project

Position

We regard integration, not the fuel cell itself, as the difficult part.

Every component can be bought. What cannot be bought is the arrangement: how much energy sits in the cell and how much in the battery, where the heat goes, what happens on the bus when a source drops out, and how the whole system is shown to be safe before it leaves the ground.
